Berhampur: Two bogies of a goods train derailed between Berhampur and Golanthara railway stations Friday morning. However, no casualty has been reported as the train was empty.
According to sources, the mishap took place at around 2AM when the train was on its way to Visakhapatnam from Khurda road for repairs.
As per latest information, senior railway officials from Khurda road and Brahmapur have reached the spot and are trying to bring back the bogies on to the track. Restoration operations are on under the supervision of Khurda road additional divisional railway manager S P Dwivedi.
While Puri-Palasa and Bhubaneswar-Berhmapur passenger trains have been cancelled, efforts are on for the running of several other trains which remains stranded at nearby stations.
