Bhubaneswar: As the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made Aadhaar number mandatory for applying for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, the state government Wednesday said it has made special arrangements for Aadhaar enrolment of students.
The state has been participating in all India level JEE Main for the last three years for admissions into engineering courses in various institutions, including IITs and NITs in the country.
“To provide hassle free Aadhaar enrolment of JEE Main aspirants, we have opened special camps in various blocks, NACs, municipalities and municipal corporation areas. The Centre has opened 240 Aadhaar enrolment camps, where the students can avail the facility,” skill development and technical education minister Sanjay Das Burma said Wednesday. The CBSE has also opened such camps in cities where the examination centres are located, he added.
According to guidelines, if the details printed in the Aadhaar card do not match with those furnished by the candidate during filling up of application, the application will be rejected.
The online application process has started December 1 for the exam scheduled to be held April 2, 2017. The last date for submission of applications is January 2 while fees can be paid till January 3.
