Bhubaneswar: Considering the problems faced by patients’ attendees at various hospitals, the state government has decided to provide dinner at Rs 5 per meal at all Aahaar centres operating inside hospital campuses.
The decision was taken at a high-level review meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, here Thursday.
The government has decided to provide dinner at 54 Aahaar centres in various hospitals across the state from next January 1.
The Chief Minister has asked the officials to ensure quality and cleanliness at the centres.
During the meeting, it was also decided to open new centres in 32 urban local bodies (ULBs), where no such centre has been opened till now, official sources said.
At present, Aahaar centres are operating in 76 ULBs, while the new centres will be opened January 26, a source said.
Now, people can also provide food to their guests on the occasions of marriage, birth anniversary, marriage anniversary and death anniversary at the centres. They have to pay online for the same and will get 100 per cent income tax rebate, the source added.
