Berhampur: Anil Gochhikar emerged champion in the 15th State Bodybuilding Championships, which concluded here Saturday. Anil was also crowned ‘Mr Orissa’.
Anil clinched the title in the 75 kg event and it was his fourth title in the prestigious event. Balal Khan bagged the most improved bodybuilder award.
Other awards: (55kg) Rajesh Kumar Temrukar; (60kg)Bijay Kumar Mantri; (65kg)Brajabandhu Suara; (70kg) Balal Khan; (80kg) Rashmi Ranjan Sahoo; (85kg) Supratibh Khuntia; (95kg) Satyajit Pratihari.
Salila steals show
Salila Dash of Bhubaneswar Regional Mines Bureau performed splendidly to emerge champions in five events of the recently concluded All India Mines Bureau Athletics Championships at Hyderabad. Maheswar Mishra also clinched the title in the chess event.
TN, Manipur in final
Tamil Nadu and Manipur entered the final of the 23rd Senior Women’s National Football Championship after winning their respective semifinal matches at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Monday.
In the first semifinal Tamil Nadu spanked Bengal 4-1. In the second semifinal Manipur edged out Indian Railways 2-1.

A five-member state team will participate in the 55th State Senior Artistic Gymnastics National Championships at Mohali, February 16-18. The squad: Chinmaya Behera, Sahabaz Alam, Bhaskar Behera, Sitakanta Ojha, Umakanta Ojha; Coach: Karunakara Parida; Manager: Diptiranjan Satpathy.
