Balasore: Several projects will be taken up with funds provided by industrial units in Balasore under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). A multiplex with 1,000 seats will be built in the town while 67 CCTV cameras will be installed at major locations. Besides, CSR funds will be utilised for development and beautification of several tourist places.
A decision to this effect was taken at a review meeting presided over by Collector Ramesh Chandra Rout here Friday.
The district administration put forth a list of proposals for discussion at the meeting and earmarked the proposals on beautification of the town, upgrading of healthcare infrastructure, women’s empowerment, setting up of vending zones, development of tourism, education and culture sectors, setting up of bus stands, stadia and an electric crematorium using CSR funds.
Other proposals included public toilets, drinking water projects, ATM kiosks, waste treatment systems, operation of battery-fuelled four wheelers for differently-abled and elderly persons at railway stations and cinemas. At heritage sites, the corporate houses were asked to put up attractive signage.
The collector said a site was earmarked for multiplex in the town.
