Bhubaneswar: Cracking down a major whip against drugs peddling, the police Commissionerate have seized brown sugar weighing around 195 grams and arrested two youths at Salia Sahi slum in Bhubaneswar Thursday.
During the raid police also seized Rs 3,76,100 cash from their possession.
Acting on a tip-off about the illegal trade of contraband, a team of police officials led by Excise Superintendent Prasanna Kumar Acharya raided Adivasi village of Salia Sahi slum and seized brown sugar worth Rs 19.50 lakh. .
The accused persons were arrested under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and will be produced before a court, reports said.
The cop said that the accused have confessed that they were involved in the drugs peddling since last three months.
