Cuttack: Chauliaganj Club scraped past Royal Club 3-2 via a shootout in a match of the FAO IInd division football league at the Barabati Stadium here Friday. The win helped Chauliaganj qualify for the first division for the 2018 season.
The match ended goalless during regulation time. In the tie-breaker Darasingh Jamnda, Pritish Nayak and Mana Karangia scored for Chauliaganj while Krishna Oram and Banju Kumar hit the target for Royal Club.
RSC edge past Chand Club
A goal each from Subhdra Sahu and Ashrita Kangadi helped Rising Student Club (RSC) cruise past Chand Club in a match of the FAO Women’s league here, Friday.
RSC went ahead early when Subhdra scored in the eighth minute. They doubled their lead at the stroke of half time with Ashrita striking from close range. RSC could have won by a bigger margin had Ashrita not missed a sitter earlier.
In the other match of the day SAI-STC played out a goalless draw against East Coast Railway (ECoR).
Neelkamal triumph
Neelkamal Football Club (NFC) secured a hard fought 1-0 victory over Kalinga Football Academy (KFA) in a match of 14th Gati Krushna memorial (Division-B) football tournament in Bhubaneswar here, Friday.
The all important goal of the match was scored by Kadu Soren in the 23rd minute.
