Like its name suggests, upcoming Oriya film Badmas Toka revolves around a bad boy, who turns a good boy towards the end. The film casts Udayan, who has been cast earlier in two Kannada films, Bengal diva Malovika and debutant Shiva in the lead roles share screen space with veterans Mihir Das, Ashrumochan and Jiban Panda. Directed by Prashant Pal, the film’s music was recently released at an event in Bhubaneswar.
“The tracks have been composed to woo all types of audiences. The film has romantic numbers, sad songs and an item song. Though the lead actors are newbies, they have been explored to the maximum,” said music director P Kumar.
Actor Udayan said, “My character in the film is a notorious one but I am not the villain. We have added all sorts of ‘badmasis’ without making it a censor movie.”
Actor Shiva said: “I am excited and nervous at the same time. Hope people like my effort. I have worked hard to get this role. I enjoyed the shoot and mostly enjoyed working with Malovika (smiles). She is an awesome co-star.”
“This is the last film of late actor Minaketan. The film has a social message depicting how society plays a role in shaping one’s opinion,” said producer Soubhagya Parida.
Dialogue writer of the film Rajani Ranjan said: “It is a family drama with full of surprises and humour. Any ordinary person can relate to the story line.”
