BHUBANESWAR: Google Crowdsource organised DevExpo, an annual event for developers and designers where they can interact with speakers and industry experts with hands-on experience on certain trending technical topics at Patia here recently.
The Developer Student Club team had an amazing execution for the top-notch completion of the event. Mozilla Club BBSR was also a partner club that had tied its hands with the organisers for cooperation. The event hosted an array of 250+ students who were filled with enthusiasm to learn about tech and design.
DevExpo was led by Md Manzar Hasnain. DevExpo 2019 was the very first chapter of the book and we wanted to take it to the next level of technical meet-ups and events.
“We had an amazing array of speakers and experts for our attendees to learn from. We got a whopping 250+ attendance that pretty much filled the house completely. With a slight fusion of excitement and tension, the event saw a plethora of speaker sessions from Kasturi Baruah from Google, Karan Shaw from Nexright, Ramakrishna V. from Zeta India, Gaurav Joshi from Hotstar and Snehasish Nayak as a Google Product Expert,” he said.
The event basically revolved around the topic of interests for techies and designers. The creators of tomorrow were all seen under one roof. The agenda started from a talk on Google crowdsource, which then switched over to Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning for dummies. The next event pretty much got everyone excited as Ramakrishna walked up and gave an amazing session on Touching the Heart with amazing UI and UX.
We then had hands-on experience on Google Assistant apps through actions on Google. The next session was by the Head of Design of Hotstar and was pretty amazing too. The participants got to learn a lot of designs and life lessons as a whole from the topic and agenda.
The planning started with a thought to host a unique event which hasn’t been done before in Odisha. Courtesy of the team effort, the group was able to bring five awesome speakers who set the tone from the offset. The event received 1000+ registrations. E-invitations as well as invitation letters in person were sent out to main speakers as well as to the authorities.
The technical and sound system duties were allotted to Deco. Team members were also assigned to cater to the speakers personally such as accompanying them to and from the airport/hotel. Three orators were assigned for the event along with photographers. Finally, everything happened according to plan. Speakers as well as participants enjoyed the concept of the event and were impressed with the hospitality and arrangements.
