Bhubaneswar: Exhibitions, flash mob, pageant shows, food plaza and cultural programmes were hosted by ECoR as part of the sixday all-India Railway Bharat Scouts and Guides Jamboree here. The participants have represented 16 zonal railways from all over the country at the ECoR sports complex here, Tuesday. The participants from all railway zones exhibited various innovative projects such as garbage-recycling. Nikita Bundeli of Maharashtra, who represented the Central Railways, said she had prepared some designer dresses and gift items by making use of waste materials. There were special entry points for each zone with different themes, to showcase various aspects of individual zones. In flash mob, a group of artistes congregate at a public place and perform an act for a brief period to spread a message and entertain people simultaneously and then disperse quickly.
The group involving 82 participants focused on cleanliness at the city railway station. A food plaza was also set up wherein the volunteers from all
zones prepared special dishes together. A human chain will be formed for peace and harmony on the day of valedictory. The day’s most attractive feature was a pageant showcasing cultural programmes to represent cultural diversity through dance or drama.
Event officer Lalita Panda said awards for different events will be given away at the valedictory by Governor SC Jamir.
More than 2500 participants from all railway zones are taking part in the events and performing their scouting skills such as firstaid, pioneering, compass, mapping and backwoodsman cooking along with social awareness activities, disaster management, human chain and route march on social awareness.
