Balasore: There was gaiety and fervour among Muslims across the state on the occasion of Id-ul-fitre, but the family of the 3-year old thalassemic girl from a minority community, who is now affected by Hepatitis C through an infected blood transfusion, has lost all fun and celebrations in Paduanpada of Balasore district Thursday.
Sympathizing with the aggrieved family, a group of local eunuchs under Loknath Kinnar Sangh went to the family and tried to humour the family members by spending hours with the girl.
Nandini Kinnara along with other fellow members Sila Kinnar, Soumya Kinnar, Puja Kinnar, Juli Kinnar and Shrabani Kinnar gifted a new dress to the girl and fed her sweets as a mark of Id celebration.
They wished the family well, saying, “The girl will get well by blessings of Iswar, Allah.”
Significantly, when the administration did not come forward to help the thalassemic girl, the eunuchs assured her of financial help.
Upset over the administration, the eunuchs have decided to stage a dharna in front of the office of the chief district medical officer (CDMO) Friday. PNN
