First Capital-Dhenkanal meet discusses cultural bonding

Bhubaneswar: An elite gathering of people from Dhenkanal named Bhubaneswar-Dhenkanal Samabesa was held at Red Cross Bhawan, Bhubaneswar (Main Conference Hall) Sunday.

The objective of the meet was to form a formal setup and regulatory body at Bhubaneswar for propagating cultural bonding among the people of Dhenkanal living away from their native place.

Many eminent personalities including Tathagata Satpathy, renowned journalist and politician, along with bureaucrats, chartered accountants, engineers, doctors, bankers, journalists, scientists, businessmen, social activists and executives originating from Dhenkanal were present on the occasion.

At the event, many important issues were raised regarding the development and improvement of Dhenkanal, along with forming an official body for the purpose. The main agenda was to name the formal body of the organisation along with scheduling and planning of the work module.

The body was concerned about conducting Dhenkanal Mahotsav at Bhubaneswar to showcase the Brand Dhenkanal and creating Bhaichara among the Dhenkanalia residing in Bhubaneswar. It also proposes to assist and promote various talented artistes from Dhenkanal in art and culture.

Further, the meeting also discussed about possibilities of enhancing tourism in Dhenkanal. Apart from that, socio-economic activities like sector-specific opinion and policy input to the government for better development prospects in Dhenkanal district were also discussed.
