Bhubaneswar: The state government Wednesday effected a minor reshuffle among the senior IAS cadre by giving new assignments to five officers. A notification issued by the general administration (GA) department said 1989 batch IAS officer Mona Sharma, on return from leave, would be the new tourism secretary. Handlooms, textiles and handicrafts secretary Chithra Arumugam has been transferred and posted as women and child development (W&CD) secretary.
Similarly, W&CD secretary Vishal Kumar Dev was posted as secretary to the sports and youth services department. At present, Dev is handling the sports department by way of additional charge. He would serve as chief managing director (CMD) of Orissa Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC) in addition to his present responsibilities.
After returning from Central deputation, Subha Sarma, a 1999 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as secretary to the handlooms, textiles and handicrafts department. Dodda Venkata Swamy has been posted as revenue divisional commissioner (RDC) of northern division, Sambalpur. Swamy was on an inter-state deputation.
