Semiliguda: Even as a high alert has been sounded in undivided Koraput district in the wake of the observance of People’s Liberation Guerilla Army (PLGA) week by the Maoists, many foreign tourists were seen clicking tribal Bonda women at the weekly market of Ankadilli under Lamtaput block.
The tourists are learnt to have come directly from Bhubaneswar in SUVs and taken photographs of women with minimal clothes.
While this has sparked resentment among locals, the presence of the visitors in Maoist-hit areas can give an opportunity to the ultras for creating instability in the region. According to reports, two more foreigners are visiting the area in cycles in next two days. There are chances that the Maoists can abduct a few foreigners to fulfill their demands, said some locals.
