Patna: Refugees residing at Gopalganj in Bihar are extracting gold from mud using their distinctive skills.
The residents of Sonar Gali, who had come from Madhya Pradesh, are extracting about 30-40 grams of gold from mud collected from separate nullahs.
According to reports, when the ornaments were cleaned by jewellers, some gold particles would remain. After cleaning, the water that contains gold particles would be thrown to different nullahs. Once the jewellery showrooms and gold workshops down their shutters, the gold hunters would start their work.
They would collect mud and muck from nullahs and clean many kilos of dirt to find the precious particles of gold.
