Bhubaneswar: Govind Poddar’s (55, 28b, 4×4, 4×6) scintillating half century and Suryakant Pradhan’s (4/24) clinical spell helped Orissa register their second consecutive win in the Inter-State T20 championships as they beat Tripura by 72 runs at Ranchi, Friday.
Electing to bat first, Orissa scored 179 for six in 20 overs. Openers Rajesh Dhuper (42, 34b, 6×4) and skipper Anurag Sarangi (18) put on 53 runs in 6.5 overs. After their departure, Subhranshu Senapati (30, 24b, 2×4, 1×6) and Poddar put on 67 runs for the third wicket to take their side to a comfortable position.
Tripura were never in the chase after being reduced to 17 for four early on, with Suryakant dismissing three batsmen. They were eventually bowled out for 107 in 17.4 overs.

Pragati in final
Pragati Sporting entered the final of the IXth All India Nimapada Cricket Cup beating Saheed Sporting by seven wickets in the semifinals, Friday. They will meet Crown Sporting for the title.
Saheed Sporting were skittled out for 98 in 23.2 overs with Partha Sarathi Nayak (32) emerging as the highest scorer. Niranjan Behera (four wickets) and Tukuna Sahoo (three wickets) were the most successful bowlers for Pragati.
Abhinab Ghosh (41) and Santanu Mishra (25) played well helping Pragati reach the target in 16.3 overs for the loss of three wickets only. Niranjan was adjudged man of the match.
