Rayagada: CBI deputy superintendent of police (DSP) MK Pathak, during the 13th round of the agency’s interrogations into the murder of sikhya sahayak Itishree Pradhan, Monday quizzed Sunil Kumar Pradhan, identified as the president of Rajya Shikya Sahayak Sangh.
An unidentified youth had set Pradhan afire October 26, 2013 when she was sleeping in her room on the premises of Tikiri UP School in Rayagada district. She was admitted to a Vizag-based hospital in a critical condition where she succumbed November 1 that year. The case was later handed over to the central investigating agency. Though the CBI so far has interrogated 92 persons in the case, the prime accused is yet to be identified.
A CBI team Saturday arrived in Rayagada Saturday and summoned Sunil to its office here for questioning. It is learnt that the sikhya sahayak, days before the incident, urged Sunil to facilitate her transfer apprising him of her problems.
DSP Pathak had also headed the team’s 12th round of investigations and was in the town January 14 for collecting some documents related to the case from Rayagada court.
