Koraput/Ankadeli: Yet another tourist from Andhra Pradesh Saturday drowned while taking a selfie near Duduma waterfall, a prominent tourist destination of Koraput district.
A woman and her son from the neighbouring state had a watery grave two days back when they were taking a selfie near the hanging bridge over Nagabali river in Rayagada district.
According to reports, 28-year-old S Ibrahim of Visakhapatnam town came to the spot Saturday with his family on a vacation. In a bid to take the selfie, he moved far too close to the waterfall. However, he crash landed in the water after losing balance. Though, some youths of nearby Damaniput village fished him out, it was too late.
While hundreds of visitors from the state and other states throng the tourist spot every day, the administration has not put up an iron fence for the safety of sightseers. Many loss of lives are reported every year due to lack of adequate safety measures at the site, it was learnt.
Locals demanded immediate step from the district administration and state tourism department in this regard. PNN
