Bhubaneswar: Former champions Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) and Mother’s Public School (MPS) won their respective group matches of the MCL Cup Inter-School football tournament at the Unit-VI Boys’ High School Ground here, Friday.
KISS beat Bibekananda High School (BHS) 2-0 while MPS, fought hard to defeat DAV School, Chandrasekharpur by a solitary goal.
Ganesh Murmu put KISS ahead as early as in the eighth minute. They could have added a few more but BHS custodian Dibyajyoti Pradhan made some fine saves. In the second session however, Sushant Tudu doubled the lead for KISS. Dibyajyoti of BHS was declared the player of the match for his outstanding performance under the bar.
In the first match of the day, MPS rode on an opportunistic strike by man of the match Sarthak Sarangi to emerge victorious.
