Her favourite series isA Korean Odyssey which is about a demon falling in love with a human being who has a special purpose and that demon has to protect that human being.
Rosalin Patnaik, a professional said, “From my experience of watching Korean series, I can say that watching Korean short films has become a growing trend among the youngsters. I have gathered by watching various snippets on social media that the drama ele- ment in Korean series is as great as in Hindi industry which could be a reason why it engages a sec- tion of young Indian spectators. What I liked about it is the ‘No saas bahu‘ element in it.” They make a very smart and realistic ap- peal to the young generation. There are elements of comedy, romance, emotion and fantasy in the series, she adds.
Ankita Banerjee, another fan of Korean stories, said the main differ- ence between Korean drama and Indian drama is that Indian drama stretches the story too far, while the Korean dramas are at best 24 episodes per season. It makes the series inter- esting. She says she watched the series on on- line sites like kissdrama, dramabeans.com. You can watch them on social media sites too. All you need to do is type the name
of your favourite series on Google to find several such sites.
Her favourite television series is Oh My Ghost which narrates the story of a young assistant chef who sees ghosts. One day, a vir- gin ghost possesses her. To make up for the lack of romance in her life she believes that only by losing her virginity will she be able to “re- solve her grudge”. Not only Korean series, but also Korean movies attract the attention of the film industry. Hindi movies such as Rocky Handsome, Ek Villian, Zinda, Murder 2 and Awarapannhave been remakes of South Korean movies like The Man From Nowhere, I Saw the Devil, Old Boy, The Chaser and A Bitter Sweet re- spectively.
