Bhubaneswar, Jan 31: The state Cabinet Saturday approved 12 proposals, including the land grant policy 2015, for allotment of government land in Bhubaneswar for the comprehensive development of the city.
The policy will facilitate creation of essential infrastructure and amenities, promote the ambience of the city and balance the interests of different organisations and individuals in need of land in the city, Chief Secretary GC Pati said here.
The policy will look into the land required for housing by statutory authorities such as the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and Orissa State Housing Board. Land carved out into suitable sizes in the capital for residential, commercial and institutional purposes will be given through auction, said the Chief Secretary.
The Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here at Secretariat, decided to adopt the e-auction system of the Metal Scrap Trading Corporation for liquor shops.
“The government had earlier decided to conduct e-auction process through the National Information Centre (NIC) but now it will be done through MSTC,” said Pati.
The Cabinet also agreed to have a Rs 100-crore corpus fund for pre-positioning of fertilisers in the state to provide this to farmers during the kharif and rabi seasons.
The cabinet also gave its nod for a corpus fund of `100 crore for pre-positioning quality seed and planting materials by institutional agencies and supplying them to farmers.
The cabinet also approved the tender for two mega lift projects cluster-III to be executed on Indravati reservoir in the state, said Pati. The tenders have been awarded to L&T ltd through competitive bidding.
The first lift irrigation project worth Rs 757.80 crore will be executed in Poksara, Jayapatna and Dharmagada blocks of Kalahandi. The second project worth Rs 515 crore will be implemented in the districts of Baragarh, Sambalpur and Jharsuguda covering 24,020 hectares.
The Cabinet also gave its nod to the proposal to shift the Orissa State Open University headquarters to Sambalpur from Bhubaneswar, constitution of directorate of Orissa watershed development mission, third amendment to the Orissa state prosecution service rules, 1997, amendment on industrial policy resolution-2007 by changing the
definition of downstream industry, conversion of interest liability of `32.70 crore of Orissa Agro Industries Corporation to share capital and restructuring of command area
development.
