Pragati Prava
Alumnus of Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, actor Ashrumochan Mohanty shot to limelight after Magunira Shagada won the National Award in 2002. The native of Anandapur in Keonjhar district is a prolific theatre artiste, apart from being a household name in the state for his exploits in Oriya cinema and television. One of the best Oriya actors who has been active since the late 80s, Mohanty says de-stressing is important on Sundays…
I am fond of the Oriya delicacy ‘Chakuli Pitha’ and on Sundays I relish it with Santula (mix-vegetable curry), which is prepared by my wife Nayana Mohanty.
Devout soul
On Sundays, I like to spend a little more time in the temple which is near my house at Baramunda in the capital city. Surrendering my stresses before the supreme creator liberates me.
Reading
Reading novels by authors like Bibhuti Patnaik and romantic poems is my favourite pastime. If on Sundays I get the opportunity, I read novels and poems.
Shopping
A Sunday starts with buying fish for my children. I visit roadside vendors and grocery shops to buy fish, vegetables and other necessary items. However, I am afraid of visiting shopping malls as people make beelines to take selfies with me.
