Bhubnaeswar: NeoStencil, a leading online educator, will soon start coaching for Odisha Administrative Examination (OAS), a top official said Monday.
“Currently we are offering preparatory tutorial for civil service examinations by associating with famous teachers from different institutes. We are hopeful to start coaching for OAS soon,” Anish Passi, director, NeoStencil said.
He said the edutech market has the potential to touch $1.96 billion in the country by 2020 from its current size of $247 million. Among this, Odisha will be one of the major contributors as there has been an increase in the number of candidates appearing for civil service examinations from the state.
“We have set up VSAT centres and appointed franchise centres in different cities to offer coaching. Some existing institutes have gone online with their own content. A few have created open online marketplaces while enabling more than 10,000 teachers to teach directly. Despite this many students have to travel a lot to get good coaching,” he said, adding that NeoStencil has been offering live classes of good teachers for students across the country at competitive prices.
Around 50 per cent of its students are from tier III cities and many of them have not only qualified but also topped some entrance examinations.
“We are in the process of tying up with leading institutes and till date we have tied up with 40 institutes, giving live classes of 54 teachers associated with those institutes. A student gets a chance to interact with those teachers,” he added.
NeoStencil has already started offering online coaching for state-based public service examinations in Bihar, Telengana, Jammu & Kashmir and Rajasthan. (PNN)
