Nokia 2 in town
Bhubaneshwar: HMD Global, the company affiliated with Nokia phones, unveiled Nokia 2 in the state Tuesday. The phone is available for Rs6,999 only in brick and mortar stores. “We are launching the new handset Nokia 2 in the state whereas nationally it was launched last month. The handset has seen sound response and we are hopeful to see sound response from the buyers here,” Amit Goyal, General Manager-North & East, HMD Global, said at the launch ceremony. He also said the handset will be available in three colours in Pewter or Black, Pewter or White and Copper or Black. Jio customers can enjoy additional 45GB 4G Data on Nokia 2 till August 31 2018with the handset. “All Nokia 2 users are eligible for a complimentary one year Accidental Damage Insurance by Servify on opening the Kotak 811 savings account and activating it with an initial deposit of Rs1,000 in the introductory period,” Goyal added.
XC60 priced Rs55.9L
New Delhi: Swedish luxury carmaker Volvo Cars Tuesday launched the new version of its SUV XC60 priced at Rs55.9 lakh (ex-showroom all India). The company plans to sell 2,000 units this year, a growth of 25 per cent over the last year. “We are confident that the all new XC60 with its segment defining features, modern Scandinavian design and luxury will prove to be an attractive proposition for customers,” Volvo Auto India Managing Director Charles Frump told reporters here. The XC60 is not only one of the company’s largest selling models globally but has been received well in India too, he added. The model accounts for almost a third of company’s sales in India, Frump said. It is imported as fully built unit. The new XC60 comes with various advanced safety features including technology to detect pedestrians and cyclists and steer assist.
Maaza variant
New Delhi: Beverages major Coca-Cola India Tuesday launched a variant of Maaza as it expects the mango fruit drink to become a $1 billion brand by 2023. “With the launch of Maaza Gold, the company is expanding its product portfolio in line with consumers’ taste. The company at the same time is also accelerating Maaza’s journey towards becoming a homegrown billion dollar brand by 2023,” Coca-Cola India & South West Asia Director Marketing –Juices Srideep Kesavan said. The Coca-Cola Company said, it along with its bottling partners in India, procures approximately 1 lakh metric tone of mango pulp annually. “In 2023, if Maaza becomes the first $1 billion juice drink brand from India, the Coca-Cola system in India will be able to procure 2 lakh metric tonne of mango pulp annually, worth nearly Rs1,100 crore, thereby helping 1,00,000 farmers,” it added.
Pentium Silver, Celeron released
New Delhi: Global chipmaker Intel Tuesday launched Pentium Silver and Celeron processors which are based on an architecture codenamed “Gemini Lake” and are engineered for balanced performance and connectivity. The company is launching “N5000” for mobile and “J5005” for desktop Intel Pentium Silver processors. Intel Celeron processors include “N4100” and “N4000” for mobile and “J4105” and “J4005” for desktop, the company said in a statement. Intel claims that Pentium Silver will deliver 58 per cent faster productivity performance compared with a similar four-year-old PC. For the first time on any PC platform, Intel has offered Gigabit Wi-Fi capability for ultra-fast connectivity with these new processors. Additionally, systems based on these processors will be able to handle the latest in enhanced media for a great experience streaming content from popular sites such as YouTube and Netflix. Intel is also delivering Local Adaptive Contrast Enhancement (LACE) display technology to help people clearly see the screen outdoors in glare and bright light.
