Bhubaneswar: Bharatiya Swadhinata Surakshya Sammukhya, a voluntary organisation, is planning to stage a dharna at Mahatma Gandhi Marg here Saturday demanding reforms measures in the educational sector.
The outfit has written to the Prime Minister seeking his urgent intervention to reform the educational system. Members of the outfit urged the PM to take appropriate steps to groom children physically, morally and psychologically, said a release issued by the NGO Friday.
The outfit has urged the PM for appointment of well-trained and highly motivated teachers and headmasters in primary, secondary and high schools across the country. Members of the organisation advocated proper infrastructure in the schools.
“The Centre and state governments should provide appropriate facilities at schools and organise them as model institutions for learning,” said the release.
In its letter to the PM, the outfit has suggested teaching in the mother tongue and asked the government to pay the school fees of poor students. “The Centre should introduce appropriate measures to provide more resources in the education sector and implement the New Education Policy-2016 at the earliest,” said the release.
