BHUBANESWAR: A leading socio-cultural organisation Samaj o Sanskruti organised a musical event “Ei amari gaan” at Rabindra Mandap here Tuesday.
The stage for the show was decorated with artificial village surroundings. Working president of the organising committee Girija shankar Das said, “We are organising the event to recreate village life and the emotions attached with it. Components of a village like soil, mountains, trees and rivers among others were attempted to be recreated in this program. We have also organised a small fundraising events to help unprivileged children in their education,”
Artistes from every corner of the state come here to perform old age songs. The musical program started with the song “Ei amari gaan”. This was followed by singer Bibhu Kishore who sang “Udigale gendalia” to mesmerise the audience. Later, Saurav Nayak, Debasish Mohapatra, Ranadeep Palita, Bandish Palita, Ashwini, Mitali Chinhara, Adyasha, Bidyutprabha Palita, Nandini, Suman, Arpita and Etishri among others joined their voice to the rhythm of village songs. Songs like “ja re bhasi bhasi ja”,”saharitali haata”,”mora mana udijaye”,”chota mora gaan ti” and “maajhire” among others were also sung by the group. Audiences over the program get emotional and get back to their old village memories. All the artists, organizing members dressed up with village attires.
MLA Arun Kumar Sahu inaugurated the musical event. Saroj Samal and social activist Murali manohar sharma attended the event as guests. Committee members Nishikant Mishra, Prof. Jyotiranjan Das, Choudhary Amitabh Das, Girija Shankar Das, Biswaranjan Das, Bimal Das, Sitikantha Senapati, Salut Sahu, Paresh Mahanta and Santrupta Dalei helped in organising the event. Singer Brundaban Jena and industrialist Sarat kumar Sahu were felicitated with fifth Chandramadhaba Mishra Smruti Samman” and Ratnakar Rout was felicitated with tenth Ishwara Chandra Sahitya Samman.
