Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has decided to launch Building Plan Approval Automation System (e-BPAS) August 1 for processing applications related to approval or renewal or alteration of building plans.
Officials claimed that the civic body has decided to go online to improve transparency in the system.
“Manual receipt of applications shall be closed by July 31, 2017 to ensure better transparency and faster service. It would also help realise the goals of ‘Ease of Doing Business’ in real estate sector,” said a top official of BDA.
Citizens, architects and technical persons can approach the Citizen Service Centre at Samanta Vihar Market in Chandrasekharpur (near Kalinga Hospital Square) to avail any assistance regarding the online system.
“The Citizen Service Centre will now be designated as the Building Plan Application Centre (BPAC). So a person can approach this office for clearing doubts regarding the online application,” said officials.
According to officials, BDA has also decided to start helpdesk at the BPAC to assist the citizens, architects and technical persons in technical matters related to software usage.
