Bhubaneswar/Jharsuguda: Oriya dancer Nainika Anasuru, who made it to the finals of the dance reality show Dance Indian Dance is the second Oriya after Rajasmita Kar, who won the third edition of reality dance show, to reach the final. She is the only girl out of six finalists in the show. The 16-year-old visited her home district Jharsuguda Saturday where she was accorded a grand welcome by her fans and supporters, including teachers and students of her school.
A class X student of St Mary’s Higher Secondary school, Nainika, has taken this reality television show by storm with her moves and expressions with back-to-back spellbinding solo and duet performances in a variety of dance forms like contemporary jazz, belly dancing and freestyle. She impressed everybody from three judges Marzi Pestonji, Mudassar Khan and Mini Pradhan to the grandmaster Mithun Chakraborthy with her versatile dance skills. She was welcomed in grand way by her teachers and friends at her school. She was also felicitated by the school principal after which
everybody click selfies with her.
Besides, she was taken around the city in a mass rally. Talking to Orissa POST Nainika said that she was really happy upon receiving such a huge welcome. “It was proud moment for me and my family”, she said adding that she was ready for the finale which will be February 15 but will be telecast later. Her dance coach Debanjan Bose, a professional Zumba instructor, said that she had deservingly entered the finals where she was the only girl, which proves her mental and dancing strength. He said that he was confident of her winning the crown. Her success will help in improving the scenario of dance and fitness in the state. Her mother A Padma said that he daughter had made her proud. Her teacher of St Mary’s Atashi Banerjee said that she had made the state and district
proud.
Nainika begun dancing at the age of five with support of her mother and has been a part of various reality shows. This belle from Jharsuguda won the title of Raigarh Dancing Superstar in 2015 and Dance Chhattisgarh Dance in 2016. The judge of Dance Chhattisgarh Dance finale, ace dance master Terrence Lewis, has offered her a 3-month prep scholarship at his dance academy.
