RSC qualify for IWL finals

Bhubaneswar, Dec 3: Rising Student Club (RSC) of Orissa qualified for the Indian Women’s League (IWL) finals after playing out a 1-1 stalemate with Sethu FC in their last Group A qualifying match at Kolhapur, Sunday. The main event of IWL will be played early next year.

The Orissa eves finished their qualifying campaign as group toppers with 10 points from four matches, including three wins and a draw. They scored 26 goals and conceded only two goals. However, the draw eventually ended the Madurai-based club’s finals hopes as they finished with seven points.

After a goalless first period, it was Orissa star Pyari Xaxa who broke the deadlock and put Rising Student ahead two minutes into the second half. Sumithra however restored parity for Sethu a couple of minutes later.
