Banarpal: The toilets of Beerbahanpur project primary school under Nuahata panchayat under this block in Angul district are being used as store rooms.
The locals expressed concern after they found that the school toilets are used as office and store room to keep official documents and mid-day meal articles including rice.
Locals have blamed the district administration for this shoddy state of affairs.
The construction work of school started three years ago but has not yet been completed.
Locals alleged that the construction work started in 2015.
Students are forced to sit on polythene sheet spread on the sand floor, as the floor is yet to be plastered. So are the walls.
Besides, doors and windows to the class and office rooms are yet to be fixed.
When contacted, headmaster Niroj Kumar Gochhayat has admitted that the official documents and mid-day meal articles were kept in the toilets.
District project coordinator Niranjan Sahoo said he would only be able to say what problems had dogged the construction work after going through records. Steps would be taken after verification of the records, he assured.
