Bhubaneswar: In a startling revelation, Artha Tatwa (AT) chit fund firm chief Pradeep Sethy Monday alleged that two incumbent Orissa ministers had taken huge amount of money from him in the past.
Sethy, who appeared before a court here, made the allegation of ministers availing financial favour from him and said that he would expose the senior ministers having links with the tainted firm.
“I cannot reveal the names now as the matter is under investigation. But there are two ministers from the ruling party who are involved in the scam,” Sethy said.
Earlier, a court here had directed the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), a specialised wing under the Union ministry of corporate affairs, to investigate the AT scam.
Sources said Sethy’s statement will be recorded under Section 164 of CrPC February 9.
“The SFIO team would go to Jharpada Jail and interrogate Sethy before submitting its probe report within one month,” they added.
Sethy’s revelation assumes significance as the CBI had last year summoned food supplies and consumer welfare minister Sanjay Das Burma for his alleged links with AT Group.
The CBI had asked Das Burma to appear with documents relating to a vehicle which was allegedly gifted to him by Sethy. Though the minister has already rubbished the charges, the CBI is tightlipped whether he was interrogated.
