BHUBANESWAR: Nirmala Kruti Bikash Trust, a leading NGO of Odisha, celebrated its 13th annual function at Jaydev Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, Wednesday.
The Trust, as earlier, will continue to honour people of proven excellence in different segments of the society with Nirmala Kruti Saman – 2018. The award honours people who have contributed towards the society and who have shown sense of responsibility towards the creation of the creator. The trust works in the remote areas of Odisha and also outside the state.
The programme was graced by Tapan Kumar Chand, Chairman, NALCO, Manoranjan Panigrahi, Secretary, Department of Culture, Govt. of Odisha, Nishikant Mishra, Chairman, Dream Team Sahara, Kishanlal Agarwal, Chairman, Bharita Charitable Trust and Sri Sarat Kumar Das, Retd. Principal Commissioner, Income Tax.
The premier of short film ‘Sindoor’ was also screened on the occasion. The short film is a dedication to women for their tolerance and sacrifice in social sphere. The realistic film is written by Er. Dillip Pattanayak and produced by Soumyasmita Pattanayak.
The music is by Susant Pani and direction by Manas Parida. “This film is a tribute to women and is an attempt to commemorate the UN women’s year, 2019 in a small manner,” said Chairman of the trust Dillip Kumar Pattanayak.
The film tries to depict the sufferings of women in the society. It tries to portray how their sacrifices make the family happy. A member of the trust said, “People who make others happy get much more in return as nature comes forward to solve their problems.”
