Pune/Indore: The Pune Police has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against four Army personnel for allegedly raping and molesting a speech-impaired woman in a premises of the military hospital in Khadki, Pune.
The FIR report describes repeated rape over a four-year period, besides other chilling details.
In the FIR with the Khadki Police, the woman narrates how the jawan to whom she reported the first rape that occurred, on one of her night shifts in the hospital, became another tormentor, and joined the first man in blackmailing her and asking for sexual favours. Two other jawans then joined the molesters who then repeatedly raped the mute over a period of four years since 2014.
The victim approached a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in Indore July, this year with the complaint following which it was reported to the police.
The NGO then sent complaints to the Defence Minister and the Army Chief for taking action which led to the booking of the accused and a thorough investigation.
One of the senior Army Officer stated, that the Army personnel have been booked and necessary course will follow soon after the investigation. For now one of them is posted in the Northern Command in Kashmir, the second is with the Lucknow based military hospital. While of the other pair, one is in the Pune hospital and the other was recently transferred out of Pune.
