Bhubaneswar: The state government Tuesday reviewed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s protocol and security ahead of his visit May 26.
Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi chaired the high-level meeting that was attended by Home Secretary Asti Tripathy, DGP RP Sharma, Director Intelligence, Twin City Police Commissioner, Khurda Collector and other officials.
“The Prime Minister will reach here at 3.25 pm May 26 and will depart at 5.55 pm the very day,” the Home Secretary said.
The Chief Secretary asked all officials to adhere strictly to protocol and follow all security measures as required.
He said that after landing here at Bhubaneswar, the PM will fly to Cuttack by helicopter and will address a meeting at Baliyatra Ground and will then return to New Delhi.
The meeting worked out a detailed plan of police deployment.
Though the visit of the Prime Minister to the state this time is unofficial, all necessary security arrangements will be put in place.
The Home Secretary, who said that it was not appropriate to reveal the details of security measures, however, said that various agencies have to be responsible for the task.
From Bhubaneswar, the Prime Minister will land on the Naraj helipad at Cuttack and will head towards Baliyatra Ground to address a rally to mark completion of his government’s fourth year at the Centre.
