Bhubaneswar: The VIIth State Shooting Championships was inaugurated Thursday at the shooting range in Kalinga Stadium here.
Orissa sports minster Chandra Sarathi Behera inaugurated the four-day meet which will conclude, Sunday. Beside Behera, former national gold medallist Amitabh Bhattacharya and State Rifle Association vice-president Chitta Ranjan Swain were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
The meet will be conducted in three categories – junior, senior and veteran – for men and women. The events will be conducted simultaneously in the Kalinga Stadium shooting range and in the indoor range of Utkal Karate School.
