Rourkela: Education is a potential weapon which can propel youths of Kashmir to join the mainstream of society rejecting violence, says Mubin Masaudi of Rourkela, who runs an educational training institute, in the valley.
Mubin, son of BM Masaudi, a general manager of finance department of Rourkela Steel Plant and an alumnus of IIT Bombay, refused the fat salaries of multinational companies and preferred to help out Kashmiri youths after having a degree in civil engineering in 2011.
He has set an example of sort in the valley which often remains in the news for all the wrong reasons.
After completing his engineering, Mubin joined a few corporate houses with lucrative pay packages. However, he didn’t get the job satisfaction, he was looking for.
One fine day, he resigned and launched Rise, a training institute to impart higher education to the youths and make them job-ready, in Srinagar.
While the institute prepares students to appear for important entrance tests like JEE-Mains and BITSAT, the meritorious students of economically backward classes are given training free of cost, it was learnt.
Four students of Rise have cracked the prestigious IIT entrance this year for the first time because of the efforts put in by Mubin.
Besides, 32 more students of the institute have got seats in various National Institute of Technology (NITs). This is not a mean feat for a youth in a state where education is a major casualty due to a range of reasons, locals said.
As per his achievement, Mubin has been nominated for the leadership module offered by the external affairs ministry of Sweden government which has only bolstered his confidence.
This apart, he has got a place among 31 glorious future leaders of SAARC nations who would get scholarships under the Young Connectors of the Future, a cultural programme held at the Swedish capital of Stockholm.
Educating people is the panacea for all problems of the country, said Mubin, who aims to set up a state-of-the-art institute which can offer education to youths for sustainable development. PNN
