Kolkata: Students are going to be taught on controlling obesity. West Bengal government is first to introduce the project as it has already drafted a detailed plan in this regard.
Students starting from primary education are to get obesity management education. The West Bengal government has also sanctioned the required fund to implement the yojana, it was learnt.
According to a senior official in the education department, “The lessons will teach not only about the risk of being obese but also about other related diseases. The students will learn about healthy diet. The yojana also has something for the teachers. They will be trained in Yoga because with this ancient healing system they can keep themselves healthy and later can give lessons and training on Yoga to students from their own experiences.
Notably, the government’s aim and objective behind such a step is nothing but keep the students healthy.
