Bhubaneswar: Orissa taekwondo exponents performed splendidly to win 12 medals including a gold, three silver and eight bronze medals in the recently-concluded 14th ITF South and West Invitation Taekwondo Championships which were held at the Don Bosco School in Goa.
Sai Bises Mishra won two medals (one gold, one silver) to emerge as the top performer among the 17 Orissa participants, who took part in the competition under the guidance of Laxmi Prasad Nayak. He bagged the yellow metal in the Spiring event and finished second in Tuls.
Barsa Kumari and Prasant Kumar Sahu won silver medals in the Tuls category. Pruthwiraj Pohapatra, Anmol Bez, Harshabardhan Mangaraj, Rutuparna Samal, Vijaylaxmi Priyadarshini, Suraj Kumar Jena, Ayushi Satpathy and Ritika Kanhar bagged bronze medals each.
Chairman of St. Xavier’s International School BN Patnaik congratulated the players for their achievement. Seven hundred and fifty participants from 13 states took part in the competition.
