Bhubaneswar: Orissa finished third with 28 medals in the recently concluded 37th National Taekwondo Championships at Kolkata, Thursday.
Orissa players performed splendidly to win eight gold, eight silver and 12 bronze medals. Sonalika Munnu, Abrika Panigrahi, Subhalaxmi Jena, Sanika Panigrahi, Baishnabi Kirti, Manas Kumar Singh, Prasant Singh and Sarat Madhuala won yellow metals.

Sisu Bharati and St. Xavier’s scripted contrasting victories in their respective matches of the Bhagavan Das Inter-School Junior football tournament at Cuttack, Thursday.
In the first match Sisu Bharati scraped past Bidanasi MPC 2-1. Pradyas Mukhi was adjudged the best player of the match.
In the second match St. Xavier’s School thrashed Ravenshaw Collegiate School 4-0. SK Shagriaz Noor bagged the man of the match award.
Meanwhile PM Academy registered an emphatic 7-0 victory over Sishu Bharati in a match of the Basant Kumar Das Memorial Senior Inter-School football tournament. Md. Samsuddin was adjudged the best player of the match.
