Cuttack: The transfer of two officials of the Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) here in a span of two weeks has badly affected its work.
The incumbent vice-chairman (VC) of CDA, Subham Saxena, has been transferred to the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) as an additional commissioner while secretary Kabindra Sahu has been posted as an additional collector of Kalahandi. While Saxena has served as VC for only five months, Sahu’s transfer comes one year after his joining.
Sources said the former VC of CDA, Pratap Das, was transferred to the Directorate of Animal Resources in January this year. After his transfer the VC’s post had been vacant for four months. Former collector Nirmal Mishra had taken additional charge of the CDA as VC till April. Later, Saxena who was serving as project director of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Mayurbhanj, joined CDA in the last week of April.
Similarly, Sahu was posted as sub-collector of Redhakhol and joined CDA October 13, 2016 as the officer on special duty (OSD) of the discretionary quota irregularities. He took over as secretary of the Cuttack Development Authority after the transfer of then secretary Manaswini Sahu in January this year.
Sources said the two officials had shouldered much of the work load. They have been credited with Trisulia development programme, development of Sector 13 of CDA and cancellation of illegal plots under the discretionary quota. So far the CDA has cancelled 12 plots which were allotted illegally. The functioning of the CDA has badly hit by the transfers of the officials.
