post news network, Bhubaneswar, July 4: A workshop was held at the Baha’i House near the CRP square for the youths of the city Saturday to inculcate in them the good habits that would help them maintain social harmony. The workshop, which was aimed at making the people of the city aware of their social responsibility, was organised by the Baha’i community of India.
Speaking during the occasion, Shatrughan Jiwnani, director of the Bahai office of public affairs, said, “The society has been grappling with myriad issues, which force us to compromise on our prospects of growth and wellbeing. The need of the hour is to raise the consciousness of the people that can prevent them from doing any act, which hampers the progress of life in the city.
“There are different ways through which people can stay focused and stick to the right path of spirituality and devotion, which are the potential paths for them. Prayers and devotion always help people in staying away from many social menaces and it also helps in maintaining a social harmony.”
Nilaxi Rajkhowa, another member of the Baha’i office of public affairs, said, “Consciousness and sensitivity are very much needed to ensure a better society. In the recent few years, the people of the society and the authorities too, have become gender sensitive, which has resulted in some pro-women policies. Similar sensitivities are needed in other issues, such as, child rights etc.”
Nadita Moghbelpur, member of the Orissa Baha’i Council said, “We, as the members of the Baha’i community often organise many programmes such as workshops, seminars, awareness campaigns etc. We often try to create awareness in the society on several issues. This programme was a part of our initiative.”
