Phulbani: An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 55-year-old man at Khajuripada village in this town here Wednesday.
The matter came to light after a complaint was lodged by the victim’s family members at a local police station Wednesday night.
According to reports, the girl was raped while she had gone to take bath in a nearby village pond.
The accused has been detained and an investigation is on, police said.
