Bhadrak: A minor girl, missing since Friday, was found abandoned at an isolated place near her residence at Gadapada village near Tihidi in this district Saturday evening.
The girl was found tied and stuffed inside a bag. After a frantic search, family members spotted and rescued her. She was rushed to the Tihidi government hospital but her condition remained critical.
Police had registered a “missing” case basing on a complaint from the girl’s family. A probe has been initiated. The reason behind the ‘strange disappearance’ of the girl student was unclear, senior police officials said, adding the victim would be examined once her condition improved.
Tension prevailed in the village after girl’s family roughed up a youth for his alleged complicity in the case. A suspect has been detained and he’s being interrogated, police sources said.
