Dhenkanal: A sub-inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) found himself in trouble after a woman lodged a complaint with the ASP against the former alleging that he had deserted her after marrying her at a temple, a report said Wednesday.
The accused SI is working in the CRPF 8th battalion and is posted at Muniguda in Rayagada district. The matter came out after the victim, a resident of Kashiadiha village in this district, met ASP Harekrushna Pradhan and lodged a complaint.
The victim accompanied by human rights activists Sasmita Das, anti-corruption activist Siba Sundar Swain, women’s rights activists Geetashree Das and Sanjit Mohanty demanded that the SI should accept her as his wife.
In her complaint, the victim alleged that the SI married her at Swapneshwar temple at Korian in the town after a long courtship February 12, 2018. The SI promised to register their marriage soon and had physical relationship with her.
However, he soon went back on his promise and refused to pick up her calls. The woman after some efforts managed to get in touch with the SI but he refused to accept her as his wife.
The ASP said that steps will be taken after registration of a case.
