Nayagarh: Dengue scare gripped Biruda village of Baruda panchayat under Sadar block in Nayagarh district after six persons were tested positive for dengue in last five days.
While some of the persons suffering from dengue returned to the village after treatment, some are still undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Krushna Chandra Muduli, Rambha Palei, Subashini Mondal, Dharitri Muduli, Champa Pradhan and Chhatia Behera were tested positive for the epidemic.
Biruda sarpanch and samiti members had met district Collector September 17 and held discussions to eradicate the malaise.
Following the meeting, a two-member team visited the village and took stock of the situation on the direction of Chief District Medical Officer.
The experts’ team has been testing the blood samples of the villagers since last two days.
