New Delhi: Sri Jagannath Sena convener Priyadarshan Patnaik has filed a petition in the Supreme Court (SC) Friday seeking a CBI probe into the violence erupted during a bandh at Puri October 3.
The petitioner alleged that police entered the temple premises with shoes and guns, and that there were video footages to substantiate this.
The counsels of the state government and the temple administration denied these allegations through an affidavit filed in the SC.
The petitioner sought an inquiry by the CBI into the CCTV footage of Srimandir (dated October 3) to find out whether the police had entered the temple with shoes and weapons.
Priyadarshan also requested the SC to quash the FIRs registered against him and others in connection with the violence during the dawn-to-dusk bandh.
