Rajkanika: A man who had married a woman four years back, helps his wife marry her new lover at Pattamundai.
According to sources, Bikash Kumar Sahoo, 24, a resident of Tarapada, fell in love with Barsharani, 23, and later got married to her June 22, 2014 as per Hindu rituals.
The couple led a happy life and Barsharani gave birth to a girl August 12, 2015. Later, Bikas went to work in a Kolkota-based company and Barsharani was staying with her in-laws.
About a year ago, Barsharani fell in love with one Suresh Lenka, 28, of Jaynagar, with whom she eloped recently. Both Barsharani and her lover Suresh decided to get married though she had a three-year-old daughter and was already married to Bikash.
Recently Barsharani and Suresh were found in a house and her in-laws and informed Bikash about this. Barsharani told her husband Bikash that she was not happy with him and his family, and that she wanted to marry Suresh Lenka. Bikash soon decided to divorce his wife.
Bikash divorced Barsharani July 31, 2017. “Later, I negotiated with Suresh Lenka, the lover of my former wife, and made him agree to accept Barsharani,” said Bikash, who arranged his wife’s marriage with Suresh November 3.
The marriage was solemnised at the Gopaljew Temple as per Hindu rites and the Hindu Marriage Act. Later, Bikash got their marriage registered with a Notary at Pattamundai.
“If my wife did not want to live with me and wanted to start a life afresh with her lover why should I oppose her? I divorced her and arranged their marriage at a temple and at the notary court in Pattamundai. My wife also took my daughter with her,’’ Bikash said.
