Kendrapara: The Special Task Force (STF) has submitted charge sheet in GR Case No. 855/2018 in SDJM court Tuesday against Tito in connection with the kidnap of contractor Shiba Prasad Parida.
Public prosecutor Sanjay Kumar Jena said Tito and six others, including his brothers, had kidnapped Rantha alias Shiba Prasad Parida, a contractor of Charigaon, at gunpoint to extort money September 9, 2017, from his rented house in Kajala. Parida did not file any complaint.
Kendrapara IIC Tapan Kumar Nayak later lodged an FIR regarding this at Kendrapara Town PS July 9, 2018, after Tito was arrested by STF.
Acting on the FIR, Kendrapara town police registered a case against Tito and his associates July 9, 2018 (Case No. 99 /18 under Sections 364 (a), 323, 324, 294, 506, 307, 386, 387, 341, 34 of IPC and Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act).
Later, the STF took up the case for investigation and submitted the charge sheet of GR case No. 855/2018 in the SDJM court against Tito alias Sayed Ushman Ali, Sheikh Babar alias Channo, Bapu alias Dilsad Ali, G Babu alias Sayed Asfak Ali, Sappo alias Sayed Imaran Ali, Heera alias Javed Ali and Bablu.
In this case, Kendrapara Town Police had taken Tito and his henchman Sk. Channo on a two-day remand August 8 to interrogate them about their role in the kidnap of contractor Parida September 9, 2017.
Although the STF managed to arrest Tito and Channo, the other accused absconded. The STF has been trying to nab the Tito brothers.
