Sajanagad: Brajakishore Jena, a sculptor of Soro in Balasore, is deeply saddened by the large-scale destruction of humanity that had taken place in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan due to nuclear bombs during the World War-II. Jena had also offered an oil painting of a poor tribal to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik with hope that he would pay attention to welfare and protection of neglected tribals.

His other stone, wood , soil and paper sculptures reflect global camaraderie, patriotism and welfare of the neglected people.

Jena has earned a name for himself at the state, the national and the international level. His paintings and sculptures have won accolades at Malaysia, Bhutan and Barazil.

Besides, he has been teaching various forms of art to unemployed youths free of cost. “I feel proud of my students who have earned their names at the state, the national and international levels and eke out their living,” he added.
