Bhubaneswar: Reviewing the preparations made for upcoming Matriculation examination, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi Monday asked collectors and SPs to provide foolproof security to question papers and exam centres.
Padhi, along with Development Commissioner Asit Tripathy and Police DG Rajendra Prasad Sharma, held a review meeting with collectors and SPs through video conferencing here at Secretariat to ensure smooth completion of the Matric board exam. The examination will began February 22 and continue till March 8.
Padhi asked officials to ensure proper management and security for the examination as the number of students appearing for the test is higher in comparison to other examinations. School and Mass Education secretary PK Mohapatra, who was also attended meeting, said, as many as 5,87,720 students would appear for the matriculation (HSC) examination at 2,953 examination centres across Odisha.
The SPs have been directed to deploy sufficient police force at the examination centres.
Development Commissioner advised the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) to take measures to prevent spread of rumours about question paper leak in social media.
For storage and security of questions papers, 304 nodal centres have been specified. he said.
The question papers will reach at the examination centres in between 6 am to 8.30 am on the same day while students will be allowed to centres at 9 am on the first day and 9.15 am on other days, the secretary said, adding, the students will be examined at the entrance gates.
In order to prevent copying and malpractices by candidates, three-tier squads have been constituted. As many 58 flying squads, 44 special squads and six zonal squads have been formed to conduct surprise visit to examination centres, Mohapatra said.
Asked about arrangements for evaluation, he said, the answer sheets will be evaluated at 60 centres across the State in between March 25 and April 7.
